The city of Umag has donated a device for measuring the ankle index to the Istria Health Centres, thereby continuing to invest in healthcare in its area. The donation was made on 15 September, and the value of the equipment is 4,750 euros. This device allows for the performance of diagnostics on the ankle-brachial index, which is crucial for the accurate assessment of patients' vascular health.

The device will be used in the offices of the Istria Health Centres, where it will enable fast, simple and reliable measurement. This technological upgrade is part of the city's strategy, which continuously supports healthcare institutions in its area, including direct financial assistance, to ensure that accessible, high-quality and efficient healthcare is available to all citizens.

The mayor of Umag, Vili Bassanese, visited the institution during the handover of the equipment, with him were the head of the Umag branch of the HZZO, Nataša Gašparini-Milanović, and the deputy director for nursing, Olga Rojnić. On this occasion, the importance of cooperation between the local authorities and healthcare institutions in providing optimal working conditions was highlighted.

In addition to the equipment purchase, the city of Umag is considering wider infrastructure measures. The renovation of the roof of the Umag branch is planned, as is the renovation of the ward. The funds for these purposes will be determined based on the specific needs and requirements of the Istria Health Centre, ensuring that investments are directed where they are most needed.
