The branch of the Health Centre in Čazma (Doma zdravlja) has reopened following the completion of a comprehensive energy renovation valued at over €2.5 million. Works began in July last year and covered the building envelope and entire roof, replacement of external joinery, and thermal insulation of ceilings and floors.

As part of the renovation, heat pumps, LED lighting, and a system for remote energy consumption monitoring were installed. Thanks to the heat pumps, the waiting rooms will be air-conditioned, and patients will have a safe approach and entrance due to the building’s structural and static improvements. An energy consumption saving of approximately 50 per cent is guaranteed.

Acting director of the Bjelovar-Bilogora County Health Centre (Doma zdravlja Bjelovarsko-bilogorske županije), Michel Gruičić, highlighted that the renovation has also improved working conditions for doctors, nurses, and other staff. He noted that the impact of CO2 on nature has been reduced, with initial results expected when the heating season begins.

Bjelovar-Bilogora County Prefect Marušić estimated that the building’s operating costs will be 30 to 40 per cent lower. "Today we have a more modern and energy-efficient space," said Marušić, emphasising that the most important aspect is that citizens are ensured better conditions for healthcare, as well as improved conditions for healthcare workers.

The county simultaneously renovated the pharmacy premises of the Health Centre in Čazma. Approximately €430,000 was invested in the pharmacy’s refurbishment; the building was earthquake-proofed, installations and joinery were replaced, and LED lighting, air conditioning, and a heat pump were installed. The approach and facade were renovated, and furniture worth nearly €100,000 is currently being produced. The opening of the pharmacy in the renovated premises is expected by the end of the year.

Gruičić also announced that a procurement plan for medical equipment for next year is in preparation, which will cover all branches of the county Health Centre, including Čazma. Works are also underway at the health centre branches in Grubišno Polje, Daruvar, and Garešnica, and according to the prefect’s announcement, they should be completed by the end of the year.
