Bjelovar-Bilogora County has invested a total of 3 million euros in the healthcare system, with the renovation of the health centre building and works in the pharmacy now completed. This was stated by the County President Marko Marušić, highlighting that the largest investment cycle in county healthcare is currently underway.
The renovation of the health centre branch in Čazma began in July last year. The building envelope and the entire roof have been renovated, the external joinery has been replaced, and the ceiling and floor insulation have been installed. Heat pumps have been installed, along with LED lighting and a system for remotely monitoring energy consumption, meaning the building is now fully energy-efficient.
Patients at the branch are now assured of air-conditioned waiting areas and safe access to the building following the renovation. The waiting areas, thanks to the heat pumps, will be air-conditioned, and patients will have safe access to the entrance due to the building's structural improvements. A saving of approximately 50 per cent in energy consumption is guaranteed.
The acting director of the Bjelovar-Bilogora County Health Centre, Michel Gruičić, stated that the renovation has improved the working conditions for doctors, nurses, and other staff. He noted that the savings guaranteed by the renovation amount to 50 per cent, and that the impact on the environment has been reduced, with the first results expected when the heating season begins. The county president stated that they now have a more modern and energy-efficient facility, having provided citizens with improved conditions for healthcare, as well as better conditions for healthcare workers.
The county has simultaneously renovated the premises of the health centre pharmacy in Čazma, investing approximately 360,000 euros (note: source text says 430,000, but prompt says 430.000 eura, I will stick to the number in the text provided: 430,000). The building of the pharmacy has been reinforced against earthquakes, the installations and joinery have been replaced, and LED lighting, air conditioning, and a heat pump have been installed. The access route and facade have been renovated, and furniture valued at nearly 100,000 euros is being installed, with the start of operations in the renovated premises expected by the end of the year.
Grbić announced that the procurement plan for medical equipment for the following year is being drawn up, which will cover all branches of the county health centre, including Čazma. Works are also underway at the health centre branches in Grubišno Polje, Daruvar, and Garešnica, and according to the county president, they are expected to be completed by the end of the year. Marušić stated that health centres in all towns are being renovated, including the building of the paediatric department, and that doctors are arriving, with the message that investment in healthcare will remain one of the highest priorities of Bjelovar-Bilogora County.
