The city of Vinkovci is intensively expanding its network of cycle paths, with active construction work taking place at several key locations. According to the city administration, the project’s primary aim is to connect main routes into a single, safe network, thereby improving mobility and safety for all road users.
Work is currently underway in Genscherova Street, where progress is advancing rapidly. Simultaneously, a new cycle path is being built in Duga Street along the stretch from the overpass at Borinci to the town centre. This section is crucial for connecting peripheral areas to the centre, contributing to the overall connectivity of the network.
Special attention has been given to Croatian Victims' Street, where a new shared pedestrian and cycle path is being laid. In addition to the cycle infrastructure, new parking spaces are being created in this street. The section in Croatian Victims' Street will connect via Croatian Kings' Street to Jelačić Street, thereby completing the chain of connections between key arteries.
The project links main routes, including Kačićeva, Genscherova, Duga, Jelačić, and Zvonimirova streets. This systematic approach enables smooth passage through the town, reducing reliance on motor vehicles and creating conditions for a healthier lifestyle for residents.
