The international showcase of major teams, the Crikvenica Majorette Festival, takes place this Saturday, organised by the Crikvenica Majorettes. This is the fifth edition of the festival, and the local majorettes are celebrating ten years of successful operation.
The event on the town square begins at 11:00 with a ceremonial parade of majorettes from the Miramare Hotel to the Trg Stjepana Radića. The dance programme, featuring 30 choreographies, continues on the square. The showcase will bring together majorettes from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Slovenia.
The Lim Band will perform, along with the Crikvenica Major team, the Selce Major team, the Krapina Major team, the Hum na Sutli Major team, the Pregrad Major team, the Halubajki Viškovo team, the Novi Travnik Major team, the Bakovci Major team, the Tena Dance Studio, the Opatija Riviera Major team, and the Halubak Major team.
On the same day, the KUD Virovitica will perform in Crikvenica, presenting itself on the Trg Stjepana Radića from 10:30. The group will showcase the richness of Croatian folk heritage through traditional songs and dances of the Podravina and Posavina regions.
The KUD has participated in numerous folk festivals, meetings, and cultural events across Croatia, as well as abroad. The traditional culture has been presented at guest appearances in Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The local major team is celebrating its jubilee together with friendly teams and the public, creating an opportunity for new acquaintances, the exchange of experiences, and a shared celebration of dance. In the event of rain, the showcase will be held in the Crikvenica Municipal Sports Hall.
