Serbian singer Jelena Karleuša has addressed the Croatian public ahead of her anticipated performance in Vodice. In a statement, she stated that she is always gentle and mild, seeking to allay tensions following the announcement of her arrival in Croatia.

The concert is scheduled for the night of 15 to 16 August. The singer is set to perform at the local club Hacienda. The announcement immediately triggered a reaction from the public, with intense debate unfolding on social media across the region.

Sections of the online public expressed open opposition to the organisation of the event. The main argument from opponents was that the initial date for the performance coincided with the feast of the Assumption, which caused discontent among parts of the public due to the conflict with the religious holiday.

Due to the interest and the controversy the announcement generated, the organizers were forced to comment on the situation. Representatives of the club Hacienda issued a statement clarifying that the programme takes place during the night hours, aiming to distinguish the event from daytime activities associated with the feast.

The situation was also commented on by the mayor of Vodice, who responded to the arrival of Karleuša in their town. His statement is part of the wider media coverage surrounding the announcement of this concert, with local authorities having to react to pressure from sections of the public and online communities.
