Mursko Središće will once again become the meeting point for theatre amateurs, lovers of folk drama, and audiences from Croatia and abroad. The 5th Festival of Croatian Folk Drama 'Murski cimeri' will take place at the 'Rudar' Culture Centre from Friday 2 October to Sunday 4 October 2026.
During the three-day festival, the audience can expect a rich programme of theatre performances by various amateur ensembles. The festival will officially open on Friday at 16:00, following which the first performances of the competitive programme will take place. The programme continues throughout the day on Saturday, while the final day on Sunday will begin at 10:00.
In addition to the performances, the 'Murski cimeri' traditionally includes round table discussions, where performances, acting achievements, and other elements of theatrical creation are discussed following the performances. The festival concludes on Sunday at 18:30 with the announcement of nominations and the awarding of prizes to the best performances of the current edition.
The 'Murski cimeri' has for five years brought theatre troupes from different regions to Mursko Središće, preserving the uniqueness of folk drama, local dialects, and stories derived from the daily lives of people. The festival is organised by the 'Rudar' Culture Centre in Mursko Središće, with the support of partners and sponsors, and entry to all performances and festival events is free.
