The Oroslavski vez association solemnly marked the 20th anniversary of its operations in Oroslavje on 16 October. For two decades, the association has preserved the tradition, cultural heritage and customs of the Zagorje region, while the anniversary gathered association members, representatives of the City of Oroslavje and the Krapina-Zagorje County, along with numerous guests and collaborators.
The central part of the celebration was the presentation of the book "From Dishes to Precious Work", authored by the association's president, Vlatka Mrzljak. The booklet contains five chapters, the first of which features short anecdotes from the history of Oroslavje. The five chapters also cover a brief overview of the city's existence, operations and development, while the booklet also presents associations and institutions in the Oroslavje area that promote the culture of living and the city's cultural heritage. The content is enriched with numerous photographs and recipes for traditional dishes, while the final chapter presents some of the projects the association would like to realise in the future.
Alongside the book presentation, the anniversary was marked by an exhibition of the association members' handcrafts and an exhibition of traditional dishes. In the musical part of the programme, members of the Cultural and Educational Society Zlatarjeve from Zlatar performed. During the ceremony, certificates of appreciation were awarded to members and collaborators who contributed to the association's work, and a certificate was also awarded to the portal Zagorje International, which was accepted by journalist Marta Obadić.
Oroslavje Mayor Viktor Šimunić warmly greeted the attendees on behalf of the City, stating that he had the honour of being present at the association's 15th anniversary five years ago. Association president Vlatka Mrzljak thanked everyone for their attendance and the support they provide to the Association's work, emphasising that she is proud of every member, past and present.
The content of the booklet also highlights one of the challenges Oroslavje faces — the city currently lacks specific souvenirs that would represent it, a topic the association recognises in its plans for the future.
