The monograph Craft in Đurđevac – Traces of Time and People was presented in the premises of the Association of Craftsmen, offering an overview of the history of craft in the area of Đurđevac and its surroundings. The monograph was published on the 245th anniversary of the establishment of craft in Đurđevac.

The gathered crowd was welcomed on behalf of the Mayor of Đurđevac, Hrvoje Janč, by Edita Janković Hapavel, director of the Đurđevac Museum. In her address, she highlighted the importance of preserving craft heritage and its role in the development of the town. She emphasised the significance of the monograph as a record of the people, their knowledge, skills, and work, which over generations have shaped the economic and social life of Đurva.

The authors of the monograph are historians. The book presents a historical overview of the development of craft from the earliest known records to the present day. Special attention is paid to the establishment of the first craft guild in Đurđevac, which marks the beginnings of organised craft and is the predecessor of the current Association of Craftsmen. The monograph also includes biographies of numerous craftsmen who have left their mark on the economic, social, cultural, religious, sports, and political life of the town and its surrounding settlements.

Speakers at the event included the authors, representatives of the Croatian Chamber of Crafts, and representatives of the local association. Following the official presentation, guests continued with socialising, and attendees received their copies of the monograph.
