Organised by Marijin Obrok, on Sunday 10 October, a Porridge Day will be held at the Franciscan church of the Holy Trinity in Slavonski Brod. This is a humanitarian action aimed at bringing the daily lives of children in Africa, where porridge is the main food eaten, closer to home.
Following all masses, volunteers from Marijin Obroks will offer porridge to the faithful. This will allow visitors to directly experience the meal that is the staple food of many children in African countries. The volunteers of Marijin Obroks generally provide numerous meals for school meals for children in Africa, thereby promoting their staying in school and regular diet.
In addition to the porridge tasting, there will be tickets for a concert organised by the volunteers of Marijin Obroks in Brod. The concert is held on the tenth anniversary of the work of Marijin Obroks in Slavonski Brod, marking ten years of humanitarian work in the area.
The concert will take place on 7 November, starting at 20:00 in the Vijuš hall. The concert will feature Marko Kutlić, the Halužan sisters, Matej Galić and Amorose. The organisers invite everyone interested to support the action and in this way help to secure further meals for children in Africa.
