The new song Nest, written by Neno Ninčević and Hrvatske ruže, was presented to the public yesterday, and in less than 24 hours it reached number one in the trending list. This is the number one position among all Croatian video hits, not just musical ones, with Nest gaining traction on social media and in the media in record time.
The media, it is stated, were flooded with comments, with the song Nest by Hrvatske ruže being the first to reach the top spot. Neno Ninčević, a lyricist and author of over 2,000 songs, stated that he was surprised and that he would not make any changes to the marketing of this song. The author of the music and lyrics for the new song by Hrvatske ruže, and for Nest, states that it is not a hit, but a song of mourning that will reach those who feel and know the Croatian pain.
The recording was made in Tomislav Mrduljaš's studio in Split, with the arrangement by Tiho Orlić, who has previously recorded with Hrvatske ruže. The director of the video is Jak Sedlar.
The project Hrvatske ruže received support from the Ministry of Veterans and the Minister of Veterans, the Association of Families of Captured and Missing Croatian Veterans, veterans' associations, and mayors. Among the mayors were the mayors of Vukovar and Dubrovnik, Marijan Pavličević and Mato Franković, with the support of the Commission for the Determination of the Fate of Victims of Crimes Committed After the Second World War and the Croatian Parliament. The support for Neno and Hrvatske ruže, and the song Nest, was also given by Marko Perković Thompson.
Hrvatske ruže previously had hits such as Kardinali, Wherever God and Fate Take Me, a duet with Thompson, If You Don't Know What Happened, Sokoli, On the Stone Born, and the latest single, Sing to Me, My Homeland. Soon, they will be guests at the concert of Dražen Zečić in the Zagreb Arena, and by the end of the year, they plan to complete the album. Until then, Hrvatske ruže will perform in Croatia and abroad.
