The State Stud of Đakovo is marking two significant anniversaries on Thursday, 24 September: 520 years since its foundation and 220 years of Lipizzaner breeding. An all-day programme has been prepared for visitors, and entry to the Stud will be free on that day.

The day begins with individual tours of the Stables, available from 9 am to 1 pm in August Šenoa Street. Visitors will be able to view the stallions up close, which are part of the long-standing breeding tradition of this stud.

The central event of the day is a horse show with music, starting at 11:00 in the indoor riding arena. Following the show, carriage rides will be available on the Stud’s hippodrome, allowing visitors to experience the stud from outside the arena.

In addition to the horse-related activities, a market is being held in the area in front of the indoor arena, offering products from family farms, as well as local handicrafts. This links the anniversary to local production and traditional heritage.

The Đakovo stud has a tradition spanning more than five centuries, while the local breeding of Lipizzaners has been ongoing for over two centuries. The celebration of these anniversaries brings visitors together through a programme that combines breeding heritage, equestrian sport, and a market offering.
