The crew of the racing yacht Code X-CROZ, sailing under the colours of Jedriličarski klub Mornar (Mornar Sailing Club), took seventh place on the first leg of the 82nd Viška Regata from Split to Vis. The boat’s helmsman is Filip Jurišić, an Olympic sailor in the ILCA class.
The regata is being sailed from 16 to 18 October on the route Split – Vis – Split. At the start in front of the Split harbour on Friday, 16 October, at exactly 9:00, the 82nd Viška Regata krstaša (Vis Regata Cruisers) set off according to protocol and without any problems. Of the 164 registered boats, 163 made it to the starting line, including Code X-CROZ with the number CRO 3001.
During the first leg towards Vis, Code X-CROZ led the entire fleet for a long time. Despite this, it crossed the finish line in Vis in seventh place, at 12:51:42. According to the crew, the Mornar sailors were first in their group on that leg.
The first to enter the Vis harbour, in front of the Češka vila (Czech Villa), was the Slovenian Generali, helmed by Same Žvana, at exactly 12:20:41. Second place went to Scorpij, helmed by Filip Babić from JK Marina Kaštela, who reached the finish two minutes and 18 seconds after Generali. Third was Toto, followed immediately by Paula, then last year’s fastest boat Stravaganza, helmed by Dubrovnik’s Nike Kmetović, and then Polet Furioso.
At the start, a light bura was blowing at four to six knots, which turned into a tramuntana during the morning. On Saturday, 17 October, Code X-CROZ was among the 16 crews in the regata in the Vis harbour (vala), which started at 10:30. According to the crew, the Mornar sailors won and dominated the race in the Vis harbour.
The regata concludes on Sunday, 18 October, with the return leg to Split. The crew has published a video of the race. Crews were waiting in the Tamaris hotel from 14:00 to 18:00 for the traditional beans. Tonight, the island products fair opens at 18:00, and from 20:00 until 02:00, DJ Roni will provide the music.
