Sailors from the Orsan Sailing Club achieved notable results at the 27th Kup Lošinja, a qualifying regatta for the North for the Optimist class. In a field of 111 sailors from five countries, the young Orsan sailors stood out in both the overall standings and the age category.
Miho Miloglav won first place in the overall regatta standings. His clubmate Lovro Miloglav was the best in the category for sailors under 12 years old, finishing the regatta in 10th place overall.
The competition took place in demanding weather conditions. On the first day, three races were sailed in a moderate bura wind of 10 to 12 knots. On the second day, three more races were held, but in a strong bura with gusts up to 20 knots, which required additional concentration and endurance from the sailors.
On the final day, there were no conditions for sailing due to stormy bura gusts. The regatta gathered a large number of competitors from five countries, and the young Orsan sailors showed that they can cope with challenges at an international level.
Kup Lošinja was an important step in the qualifications for further competitions, and Miho Miloglav's first place and Lovro Miloglav's title as the best in the under-12 category provide additional motivation for the continuation of the season.
