NK Slaven Belupo have won the Dečec Cup, a youth football tournament held in Konjščina. The event was organised by the hosts, NK Sloga, with ten young teams taking part.
In the quarter-finals, Slaven Belupo dominated NK Oštrc Zlatar with a 10:0 victory. The other quarter-final matches also ended in convincing wins for the favourites. NŠ Bedekovčina/Inkop beat NK Jedinstvo Sv. Križ Začretje 3:1, NK Dugo Selo defeated NK Sloga Konjška 3:0, and NK Pregrada recorded an 8:0 win against NK Ivančica Zlatar-Bistrice.
The semi-finals brought surprises and dramatic finishes. Slaven Belupo overcame NK Dugo Selo 2:1 in their semi-final. In the other semi-final, NŠ Bedekovčina and NK Pregrada drew 2:2, with the winner decided by a penalty shootout. Bedekovčina were more precise, winning 9:8.
For third place, NK Dugo Selo faced NK Pregrada. After the match ended 1:1, the winner was again decided from the penalty spot. Dugo Selo were more successful, winning 6:5, to claim the bronze medal.
In the final, NK Slaven Belupo secured a convincing 7:0 victory over NŠ Bedekovčina/Inkop. This result confirmed the Koprivnica club's dominance of the tournament. All three individual honours were awarded to Slaven Belupo players. Jakov Felindeš was named best goalkeeper, Jurica Kaša top scorer, and Dino Škrlec best player of the tournament.
The awards were presented by Stjepan Merkaš, Jurica Sirovec, Franjo Kučko and Franjo Barilar. The tournament was organised by NK Sloga Konjščina, whose president is Ivica Hađina.
