NK Turanovac has resumed its activities following a long pause, marked by the organisation of a football tournament. The competition, held in honour of the local board’s day and the feast of Our Lady of the Snow, brought together local and regional teams in a shared sporting event. This initiative represents a significant step in the revitalisation of local sport and the strengthening of the community.
The tournament took place on 2 August 2026, with a total of five teams taking part. The participants included representatives from various localities, including Bratstvo from Gornji Bazja, Dinamo from Kapela Dvor, Bušetina 1947, the local team Turanovac, and Sloga from Dugo Selo Lukačko. Each team brought their supporters, creating a pleasant atmosphere on the pitch.
Due to the hot weather during the tournament, the organisers adjusted the schedule to ensure the safety of the players. The competition was held on a single-elimination basis, requiring all participants to maintain maximum concentration and tactical preparation for each match. This format further heightened the dynamics of the matches.
A total of five rounds, or ten matches in total, were played. Each match was an opportunity to demonstrate quality and sportsmanship. The players fought for every ball, despite the high temperatures testing their endurance.
Following the final matches, the title of tournament winners was won by the team from Sloga from Dugo Selo.
This victory represents a significant achievement for the team, which, despite the high temperatures, managed to dominate on the pitch and finish the tournament as the best. The victory of Sloga confirms their readiness for the challenges of the upcoming competitive season.
