Croatia will host the World Radiosport Team Championship (WRTC) in 2030, the most prestigious competition in the sport. The hosting duties have been assigned to the Croatian Radio Amateurs' Association (HRS), with the event taking place in Slavonia, across the areas of Osijek, Čepin, and Đakovo.

The WRTC brings together leading radio operators from around the world, with qualification achieved through a multi-year system of regional qualifiers. In 2030, the best operators from across the globe will arrive in Croatia. Alongside the competitors, the event will see the arrival of numerous members of the organising teams, judges, volunteers, and representatives of the international radio community.

A unique feature of the WRTC is that all competing teams operate under comparable technical conditions. Each team consists of two operators who, over 24 hours of continuous competition, establish radio links with amateurs worldwide. The winner is determined by knowledge, operator skill, strategy, teamwork, and endurance.

The WRTC 2030 Organising Committee has stated that receiving the hosting rights is a significant recognition for Croatian radio amateurs. They note that this is an opportunity to present Croatia and Slavonia to thousands of radio amateurs worldwide. Their aim is to organise a world-class championship that promotes technical expertise, knowledge, innovation, and the connecting of people.

Radio amateurism brings together millions of people worldwide, representing a blend of technology, experimentation, communication, and international cooperation. Radio amateurs develop knowledge in the fields of radio communications and electronics, experiment with new technologies, and, through their communication skills, can provide support in emergency situations.

The organisation of WRTC 2030 will be a multi-year project involving a large number of Croatian and international radio amateurs, volunteers, partners, and sponsors, alongside collaboration with local communities and institutions. For Croatia, the hosting represents an opportunity for the international promotion of Slavonia and Croatia as a destination that combines technology, sport, knowledge, and hospitality.
