Denis Galešić, a player from Raštana and a member of BK Nada from Split, has secured a place at the World Championship, which will take place in Brazil. Galešić will compete in the 'precizno izbijanje' (precision shooting) discipline, representing Croatia.
He secured his place at the prestigious competition at a qualifying tournament held in Tugare, near Omiš. Nine of the best Croatian players in the discipline gathered for the event, including Mateo Lendić, Lovre Nasić, Duje Pavešić, Marko Skejo, Mateo Jurčević, Matija Grančić, Siniša Stipić, and Duje Pirić.
In the lead-up to the final, the qualifying stage saw an extremely tight contest for first place. Galešić recorded 121 points in the qualifiers, while his future opponent in the final, Duje Pirić, recorded 119 points. These two results secured their place in the final match.
In the final, the two players went head to head. Galešić demonstrated greater precision and stability, defeating Pirić with a score of 17-14. This victory secured his place in the World Championship.
This victory represents a significant achievement for the Split-based club BK Nada, and particularly for Galešić, who is from Raštana. He is now focusing on preparations for the competition in Brazil, where he will have the opportunity to showcase his skills at the highest level.
