Hajduk has received a new sanction from UEFA following incidents during the match against Ajax, played last Thursday at Poljud as part of the first round of the Conference League. The Split club will therefore have to play its next home European match against Sint-Truidense behind closed doors, and will pay a total of 96,000 euros in fines.

The harshest sanction was issued for the interruption of the match caused by the use of pyrotechnic devices. Hajduk was fined 80,000 euros for the pyrotechnics, while the closure ban applies to the entire stadium. The Conference League third-round match against Belgian side Sint-Truidense will therefore be played without spectators.

UEFA also issued an additional conditional sanction. In the event of a repeat of the same or similar incidents related to the use of pyrotechnic devices, the Split club faces a new closure of the entire stadium for one of its upcoming European matches. Due to obstructed staircases in the stands, UEFA imposed an additional fine of 16,000 euros, bringing the total monetary amount to 96,000 euros.

Hajduk publicly addressed its fans, calling on them to behave responsibly at all future European encounters. The club urged fans to refrain from any undesirable behaviour in upcoming European matches, whether away or at home, which could cause significant financial and reputational damage to the club.

Hajduk emphasised that it wants the club and its supporters to be recognised in Europe for positive examples and sporting success, rather than incidents and sanctions.
