The disciplinary commission of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has fined the Croatian Football Federation (HNS) 20,000 euros for racist and discriminatory behaviour by Croatian fans. The fine relates to the match against Spain in the League of Nations, played on 29 September 2026 in Seville, in which Croatia lost 4-1.

UEFA relied on Article 14, paragraph 2 of the Disciplinary Regulations, which covers racist and discriminatory behaviour. The financial part of the sanction is unconditional, meaning HNS must pay it.

In addition to the fine, HNS was issued a ban on the sale of tickets to Croatian fans for the next away match in the competition. This ban is conditional and will not currently be applied. UEFA has set a probation period of two years, which begins to run from the date of the decision.

Thanks to the conditional nature of the sanction, Croatian fans will be able to purchase tickets for the next away trip by the national team, scheduled for England. If a similar offence is repeated within the next two years, UEFA may activate the ban on ticket sales for the away match. The possibility of activating conditional sanctions is provided for in Article 26, paragraph 3 of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations.

At the start of the cycle, a suspension was imposed following the incident involving Croatian fans in the qualifiers for the World Cup. The national team, known as the 'Vatreni', are now in the final matches of the group stage of the League of Nations. Croatia will first travel to face England on 12 November, and then host the Czech Republic on 15 November.
