English top-flight side Hull City have signed Greek goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolis from Olympiacos. The transfer was completed for a record fee in the club's history, closing the chapter on the most expensive signing in Hull City's recent history. Although the clubs have not officially confirmed the exact amount, estimates place the fee at around £20 million plus additional bonuses.
Tzolis has signed a five-year contract with Hull City. The 23-year-old Greek goalkeeper has spent his entire senior career at Olympiacos, where he has achieved impressive statistics. He made 131 appearances for the Greek club after debuting in 2020.
During his time at Olympiacos, Tzolis won eight trophies, including four Greek championship titles. His victory in the UEFA Conference League in the 2023/24 season was particularly notable. His success was also recognised with an individual award, as he was named Player of the Season in the Greek Superleague for the 2024/25 season.
On the international stage, Tzolis made his debut for the Greek national team in a match against Malta. He has so far earned nine caps for the national side, making him an experienced player despite his young age. His arrival comes at a time when Hull City have recently secured promotion to the Premier League.
Hull City's previous record transfer took place in 2016, when the club paid £13 million to Tottenham for midfielder Ryan Mason. The new deal with Tzolis exceeds that amount, making him the most expensive signing in the club's history.
