KK Diadora has officially announced the appointment of Josip Gulam as the new coach. Gulam, who was born in Šibenik and is 31 years old, takes charge of the senior squad and will also coach the juniors, making him a key figure in the coaching staff of the local basketball giant.
Gulam has been part of the Diadora family for two years, having joined the club as an assistant coach to Boris Hrabrov. During that period, in addition to his coaching duties, he actively assisted on the court as a player, which allowed him to gain a deep understanding of the team's dynamics and the club's specificities.
He succeeds Anton Kazanovsky in the head coach role. This move confirms the continuity of Diadora's strategy, which relies on local talent and internal development rather than hiring external experts.
The club emphasises that it continues to provide opportunities for young coaches. The aim is to create a new generation of basketball professionals who will not only lead the teams but also pass on their knowledge to future generations.
