Marijo Kovačević is no longer the coach of Dinamo. During his tenure on the bench at the Zagreb club, he completed a total of 73 matches, recording 48 wins, 11 draws and 14 defeats, Slobodna Dalmacija reports.
During his mandate, Kovačević won the double with Dinamo. Under his guidance, the team qualified for the Europa League knockout phase play-off, as well as securing a place in the Europa League for the following season.
Jerko Leko is set to step in on the Dinamo bench, where he will lead the team against Sunderland. Leko arrived at Dinamo as a coach in the summer of 2025 from Jarun, shortly after Zvonimir Boban's return to the club. He initially took charge of the U-19 age group, and since the return of the 'B' team, he has been managing Dinamo II in the Prva NL.
Pol Planas is expected to become the new coach of Dinamo. Planas is 35 years old and is currently the coach of Barcelona's U-19 team. He has been a member of the La Masia staff for more than 10 years, where he rose from assistant in the younger categories to coach of the U-18 team in 2023. After two seasons, he made another step up, reaching the position he holds today from the summer before last.
