Cibona basketball players defeated Split at Gripa with a score of 93:81 in the sixth round SuperSport Premier League derby, but the victory was only secured after extra time.

Extra time followed after Trenton McLaughlin hit a three-pointer for 75:75. Cibona then had ten seconds for their final attack, but that play ended with a block by Nicholas Johnson on Roko Badžim. In extra time, Cibona scored 18 points, whereas in the entire fourth quarter they managed only 14 points. Split scored just six points in the additional five minutes. In extra time, McGill hit a "id table" three-pointer.

Cibona's top scorer was Roko Badžim with 20 points, including five successful three-pointers from eight attempts. Antonio Sikirić, a former Split player, scored 18 points and had seven rebounds, while Rickey McGill contributed 15 points, nine assists and seven rebounds. Kamaka Hepa added 13 points and seven rebounds. Badžim gave Cibona a three-point lead (75:72) from the free-throw line.

For Split, the top scorer was Vito Kučić with 19 points, Nicholas Johnson scored 16 points and dished out five assists, and Darko Bajo combined 14 points with seven rebounds. The Split players first took the lead in the 7th minute when they went ahead 15:12.

With the win, Cibona maintained their position alongside Zadar, with both teams on a perfect 6-0 record. Split dropped to a 4-2 record, the same as Rijeka's Kvarner and Zagreb's Dinamo.

In other matches, Zabok defeated Škrljevo 84-68 as hosts. Petar Ogrizović scored 22 points and had five rebounds and five assists, Emir Šabić added 19 points and six assists, and Dino Cinac scored 18 points and had six rebounds. Davor Konjević with 17 points and seven rebounds was Škrljevo's best player, while Luka Anzulović scored 13 points. Škrljevo is now on a 3-3 record, as is Zagreb's Virtus, who on Saturday lost at home to Samobor 97-89. This is Samobor's first win in the new season, and they now have a 1-5 record. Zabok is in eighth place with a 2-4 record. Kvarner were better than Zagreb's Dubrava in Rijeka 95-81.
