Karate club Bibinje achieved significant success at the Croatian Championship in fighting for younger age groups, held on 24 and 25 October in Jastrebarsko, near Zagreb. A total of 565 competitors from 73 clubs participated in this national competition, organised by the Croatian Karate Federation (Hrvatski karate savez).

Competitors fought in various age and weight categories in the fighting discipline, known as kumite. Karate club Bibinje, which trains in two disciplines – kate and kumite – won a silver medal and two bronze medals. Stipan Tikulin won the silver medal and thereby became the vice-champion of Croatia, while Matija Pavelka and Josipa Dević won the bronze medals.

In addition to the medals, club members achieved solid placements; Kiara Šindija and Ivano Bulat took fifth places, while Duje Petković and Marija Izabela Mikulić finished in seventh place. Lovre Sikirić, on the other hand, lost in the first round of the competition.

Mladen Sorić, coach and president of Karate club Bibinje, highlighted that the children in the club put in maximum effort. He emphasised that both disciplines, kate and kumite, are trained at the club, along with strength training. This approach allows young athletes to develop in all aspects of karate sport, which proved successful at the national competition.
