In the fifth match of the league, Bosnia and Herzegovina secured a convincing 4-2 victory over Romania in Bucharest. Bosnia took the lead in the 12th minute when Bajraktarević advanced down the right wing and delivered a cross, with Gigović sliding in to send the ball past the goal of Radu. Seven minutes later, Bašić delivered a corner from the right, and Muharemović headed it in for a 0-2 lead.
Romania reduced the deficit in the 28th minute when Eissat provided an accurate cross from the left, with Birligea finishing with a header past Zlomislić. However, Bosnia quickly restored their two-goal lead in the 40th minute. Aljbegović entered the middle from the left wing and shot with his right foot; Radu deflected the ball, and Tabaković scored from a few metres out to make it 3-1. In the 55th minute, Bajraktarevi set up on the left foot and crossed into the box, where Mahmić stepped in to head the ball into the net for 4-1.
Cicaldau reduced the deficit to 4-2 with a goal in the 62nd minute. The Romanians scored in the 88th minute, but Munteanu was offside when receiving the long pass, so the goal was disallowed. Tahirović and Mujakić entered the game for Bosnia, replacing Gigović and Kolašinac, while Demirović and Hasić were substituted, with the latter making his debut for Bosnia. Tabaković also finished the match.
In Group A1, Italy secured a 4-1 victory in Turkey. Bastoni, following a corner, struck the unguarded part of the net in the 9th minute to take an early lead. In the 22nd minute, Frattesi increased the lead after Bayındır saved a shot from Kayode, with the ball rebounding to him. Kayode shot at the near side in the 27th minute, while in the 50th minute, Esposito scored into the empty net after Tonali had struck the post. Turkey reduced the deficit in the 47th minute with a goal from Yılmaz, following a misjudged pass by Donnarumma who had stepped out of his goal.
In Group A1, France narrowly defeated Belgium 1-0. In the 88th minute, the ball was received by the French player on his half, advancing forward into the middle and finishing with his left foot past the Belgian goalkeeper. In Group B4, Sweden defeated Poland 3-1. Nygren scored in the 8th minute following a cross from the left and a turn by Lindell. Szymanski equalised in the 43rd minute, but Ayari, with a precise shot, restored Poland's lead after a short pass from Nansia. Gyökeres increased the lead to 3-1 in the 72nd minute after a cross from Walemba, who had passed with his left foot into the box.
In Group B2, Northern Ireland and Hungary drew 0-0.
