Portugal remained unbeaten and secured their place in the Nations League play-offs with a victory over Norway. The Netherlands defeated Serbia 2-1, leaving them without a point after their fourth match in the group.
Portugal recorded their fourth group win in Group 4 in Porto, beating Norway 2-1. Norway took the lead in the 36th minute through a goal by Kristoffer Ajer following a cross from Martin Ødegaard; the goal was checked for offside but was deemed valid. Portugal equalised in the 38th minute through João Cancelo from 16 yards out, and turned the result in the 79th minute: Vitinha set up João Félix, whose shot was deflected to Gonçalo Ramos, who scored for 2-1. Portugal leads with a maximum 12 points, while Norway has three.
The Netherlands defeated Serbia 2-1. They took the lead in the 31st minute through Teun Koopmeiners, who touched the ball after it was crossed into Serbia’s penalty area and deceived goalkeeper Vanja Milinković-Savić — it was his fourth goal for the national team. Serbia responded in the 35th minute: Aleksa Terzić crossed from the left, and Mihajlo Cvetković headed in his first goal for the national team. The Netherlands regained the lead in the 72nd minute through Joshua Zirkzee — Denzel Dumfries sent a low ball across the goal to the far post, and Tijjijn Reijnders returned it into the box for Zirkzee. Serbia is last in the group and has only theoretical chances of staying there, while the Netherlands and Greece are in play-off positions with eight points each.
The match between Greece and Germany ended 0-0. Germany failed to take three points away from home, and a goal by Burkardt in the 32nd minute was disallowed after VAR review for handball.
In Cardiff, Denmark beat Wales 0-1 with a Rasmus Højlund penalty in the 75th minute. Denmark now has six points, while Wales has three. In the match between Ireland and Israel, the score was 1-1 — Troy Parrott put Ireland ahead from a penalty in the 39th minute, and Israel equalised through Dor Peretz in the 47th minute. Irish players boycotted the singing of Israel’s anthem and bowed their heads as it was played, while the Irish captain refused to shake hands with Israeli captain Dor Peretz.
