Nogometni klub Vukovar 1991 defeated Hrvace 1-0 in the eighth round of the SuperSport First League, in a match played in Borovo Naselje. The hero of the home victory was Niko Pajvančić, to whom coach Kristijan Polovanec handed the captain's armband.

Pajvančić, who is not yet of age, entered the scoring in the 22nd minute of the match. He took advantage of a good cross and with a header shook the net of the guests from Dalmatian Zagora. That goal was enough for three points for Vukovar.

The young captain arrived at this match from the national team gathering, where he recently stayed with the Croatian U-19 team. He also scored in the victory against Turkey.

The celebration of Vukovar 1991 comes after two defeats in a row in the championship, to which the defeat against Zagreb's Dinamo in the Cup had previously joined. The victory over Hrvace thus broke this negative streak.

In the final of the match, referee Jasmin Horvat had his hands full. In stoppage time, the guests were shown two red cards. A direct red card was shown to Marko Zebe in the 91st minute, while a red card was shown to Josip Mijić, who was sitting on the bench, in the 94th minute.
