Dino Gavrić had a superb debut as head coach of BSK. The Bjelovar side finished with a 2-0 victory over Vukovar 1991 in Borovo Naselje in the 10th round of the SuperSport First League. Gavrić thus began his tenure on the bench with a win in a Slavonian encounter.

Gavrić said before the match that he would not make many changes. The game was decided in the middle of the second half, with Dominik Rešetar playing the starring role. In the first half, BSK players had sterile possession first, followed by the Vukovar side. In the 63rd minute, the visitors took the lead, with Rešetar hitting the Vukovar net with a turn for 0-1.

In the 75th minute, Noa Grubišić pulled Robert Rety in the 16-metre area and brought him to the ground. Referee Mario Prpić pointed to the spot, and Rešetar converted the penalty for 0-2. In stoppage time, Robin Gonzalez struck from distance and hit the crossbar.

Gavrić said after the match that the game had been difficult, particularly from a psychological standpoint. He highlighted that they had dominance for the first 20-odd minutes, but that the Vukovar side had been better until half-time. He also said that they had agreed in the dressing room to start the second half as they had at the beginning.

Kristijan Polovanec was disappointed after the Slavonian encounter. The Vukovar side are located in the lower part of the table, and Polovanec said that BSK is a solid team that plays aggressive football. He added that they missed the opportunity to take the lead in the second half, that they have many young and inexperienced players, and that this is the last moment to collect points before the mid-season break.
