The second round of the Croatian championship in water polo features four matches, with the central fixture taking place tonight at 18:30 at the Poljud pool, where Jadran will face Zadar 1952 in a city derby.
Zadar will open their campaign in Šiben against Solaris, a match that ended with a 14-13 victory for the home side. Zadar were just one goal away from a positive result in the first round, so the guests from Poljud will be seeking their first points in the new championship.
Jadran were successful in their city derby against Mornar, winning 14-5. This victory places Jadrian third in the standings, while Zadar are sixth among ten clubs, but with one match fewer.
The round will open on 23 July at 16:30 with POŠK Split and Mladog. Zagreb were convincing in their first round, defeating their city rivals Medveščak 24-6, while POŠK are seeking their first points after a defeat to Dubrovnik's Jug.
At 19:00, Primorje will host Solaris. Primorje were superior to Korčula's KPK in a 11-13 victory, while Solaris had defeated Zadar 1952 14-13 at home in the first round.
In the same time slot, Medveščak Zagreb will host Korčula at the Šalata stadium. Both teams have yet to score points, so the Zagreb and Korčula squads are seeking their first success of the season.
The round was opened a day earlier, when Jug Dubrovnik convincingly defeated Split 11-21. The Dubrovnik side, with two wins and six points, have taken the top spot in the standings.
