The Government of the Republic of Croatia has recently adopted regulations on energy prices. The decision was made with the aim of stabilising the market and easing costs for citizens, while maintaining stability in the energy market.

The key change relates to diesel fuel, the premium of which has increased by €0.01 compared to the previous seven-day period. Although this is a minimal amount, it is part of a broader price adjustment mechanism. On the other hand, the premiums for other types of fuel have remained unchanged, ensuring that the prices for the majority of consumers using petrol vehicles or gas appliances remain stable.

The measures of reducing excise duties continue, with the exception of diesel fuel. The excise duty for diesel has increased by €0.20 per litre, representing the only significant change within the structure of excise duties. This measure is part of a series of steps taken by the government to mitigate the impact of high prices on the market, while also ensuring the continuity of energy supply.

The newly adopted prices are based on a formula that takes into account the price of fossil fuels in the previous seven-day period. This formula allows for a more precise determination of prices, taking into account current market conditions. According to the new prices, petrol costs €1.67 per litre, diesel €1.79, and blue diesel €1.21.

For comparison, without these measures, the prices would be significantly higher. For example, petrol would cost €1.82, diesel €1.97, and blue diesel €1.30. The prices of UN containers are €1.25, while the prices of UN bottles have also been adjusted. These differences in price highlight the importance of the measures taken by the government to mitigate the impact of high prices on citizens.
