The Government of the Republic of Croatia has adopted new regulations continuing to regulate fuel prices, setting new maximum retail prices at a telephone meeting on Monday. The new regulated price regime takes effect on Tuesday, 20 October 2026, and will remain in force for the following seven days, until 26 October 2026.
Drivers of petrol vehicles can expect a price reduction. The maximum retail price of petrol will be 1.73 euros per litre, which is one cent lower than before. For drivers filling a 50-litre petrol tank, this means a saving of 50 cents.
Diesel fuel is becoming more expensive. The new price of diesel will be 1.87 euros per litre, representing an increase of four cents compared to the current price. Filling a 50-litre diesel tank will cost two euros more. Blue diesel is also rising in price, by five cents per litre, bringing its new price to 1.43 euros per litre. Users of blue diesel will spend five euros more than before for 100 litres of fuel.
LPG is also increasing in price. The price of LPG for tanks will be 1.76 euros per kilogram, an increase of 0.09 euros, while the price of LPG for bottles will be 2.34 euros per kilogram, also with an increase of 0.09 euros.
The Government has adopted regulations amending excise duties and premiums on fuel. The excise duty on diesel fuel has been reduced by one cent per litre compared to the previous seven-day period, while the premium and excise duty on petrol have been increased by one cent per litre compared to the previous seven-day period.
Maximum retail prices are calculated according to a formula that takes into account the base price of fossil fuel over the previous seven days, with limited premiums. The premium for petrol is limited to 0.1335 euros per litre, the premium for diesel to 0.1045 euros per litre, and the premium for blue diesel to 0.0336 euros per litre.
