The 13th international shooting tournament 'Oluja 95' has begun in Koprivnica. It is a traditional sports event held in the air rifle discipline. The event brings together competitors from various countries and represents a significant event for the wider Koprivnica-Križevci county region.

The tournament was organized by the Association of Volunteers and Veterans of the Republic of Croatia, specifically the branch for the Koprivnica-Križevci county and its branch in the city of Koprivnica. These associations have long recognized the importance of preserving the memory of the Homeland War through the organization of sports and social activities for veterans and their fellow citizens.

The event has a deeper meaning that goes beyond the competitive character. It is organized on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the military-police operation 'Oluja' (Storm). This operation was one of the key battles in the Croatian War of Independence. Participants and visitors alike pay tribute to the Croatian defenders who took part in that historical action.

Furthermore, the event is closely linked to the commemoration of Victory Day and Day of Thanksgiving. This is a state holiday celebrated in Croatia in gratitude for the achieved sovereignty and territorial integrity. Through such gatherings, veterans and their fellow citizens celebrate important dates in Croatian history.
