Davor Perković, owner of the café Moby Dick on the Riva in Šibenik, has been arrested on suspicion of threatening officials from the tax administration. The Šibenik-Knin County Police received a report of the offence of threatening in the last 24 hours, following which an investigation was conducted that resulted in the arrest.
Although the police have not officially confirmed the identity of the arrested individual, media outlets have learned that it is Perković. He was arrested yesterday, and the reason is suspicion of threats against tax officials. The tax administration temporarily closed his café due to established irregularities.
The café Moby Dick was closed for eight days for serving drinks outside of working hours without issuing receipts. Perković had previously expressed dissatisfaction with the decision to close the premises and criticised the inspection oversight.
Perković is known in Šibenik as a long-standing restaurateur. In addition, he was an active kickboxer, having taken up the sport as a boy. He previously trained in water polo at Solaris, but according to his own words, he abandoned the sport after Šibenik lost its pool, so his generation had to travel to Split for training.
The police procedure and the further development of events are expected in the coming days.
