A ceremonial session of the Municipal Council was held in Konavle to mark the Day of the Municipality of Konavle, attended by County President Blaž Pezo with colleagues and guests. Among those present were Deputy President Joško Cebalo, Head of Department Žaklina Marević, and President of the County Assembly Nikola Dobroslavić.
County President Blaž Pezo greeted the attendees as the envoy of the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament, Gordan Jandroković. In his speech, he emphasised the good cooperation and the numerous projects being implemented in Croatia's southernmost municipality.
The envoy of Minister Medved, Colonel Darko Katuša, and the Mayor of the Municipality of Vinica, Branimir Štimec, also addressed the audience with brief remarks.
Municipal awards were presented to this year's laureates at the ceremonial session. The Mayor of the Municipality of Konavle, Božo Lasić, and the President of the Municipal Council, Ivo Simović, were also present.
County President Pezo stated that on this day, they remember the liberation of Konavle and all those who participated in the defence and liberation of the area. He reminded the audience that Konavle suffered significant destruction during the Homeland War and that many families endured heavy sacrifices. He emphasised that Croatian veterans and all who contributed to freedom are owed a lasting gratitude.
