The Croatian Generals' Association visited Lepoglav on 30 September, where they held a meeting of the Board. The Mayor of Lepoglav, Željko Šoštarić, welcomed the members of the Association at a reception in the City Hall.

The Mayor introduced the guests to the rich history and cultural heritage of Lepoglav, as well as the current economic and social development plans for the town. He stated that it was a great honour and pleasure that the Croatian generals, the victorious Croatian Army, had accepted his invitation to visit Lepoglav. He added that the generals had shown great interest in the local area, culture, and development plans, and that it was a great honour for him to pay tribute together with them to the fallen Croatian veterans of the Lepoglav municipality.

Prior to the board meeting, members of the Croatian Generals' Association, along with members of the Lepoglav Veterans' Association and representatives of local veterans' associations, paid their respects to the fallen Croatian veterans at the memorial in Lepoglav's Veterans' Park. Representatives of the local associations included the Local Union of Lepoglav, the 104th Brigade Association, the 2nd Battalion of Ivančica, the HVIDR of Ivanč, the Union of Veterans of the Croatian War of Independence of Ivanč, and the Croatian Officers' Union of Ivanč.

Following the board meeting, members of the Croatian Generals' Association toured the local landmarks: the parish church, the Pauline monastery, and the memorial chapel of Blessed Aloysius Stepinac in the Lepoglav Prison.

The President of the Croatian Generals' Association is retired Lieutenant General Marinko Krešić. He stated that the Croatian Generals' Association has been visiting the country for years and that it was an honour for them to be invited to Lepoglav by the Mayor, where they had the opportunity to learn about the local cultural heritage and pay their respects to the fallen Croatian veterans of the region.

Mr Krešić highlighted that the local veterans had made an immeasurable contribution to the creation of free Croatia. He noted that while there had been no war in the area, the 12 fallen veterans represented a significant sacrifice made by the local veterans for Croatia, fighting on almost all Croatian battlefields. He stated that they had formed friendly ties with the Mayor and the Municipality of Lepoglav, and that it was a great pleasure to see the smiling young people living in the town as they walked through it. He added that everything they saw in Lepoglav was an inspiration for the future.
