A solemn assembly of the Prološci municipal council took place in Donji Prološ on the Lučica, a tributary of the Vrljika. The event brought together numerous guests from political and religious life, highlighting the importance of this local community within a broader context.
The assembly was attended by Ante Šošić, the deputy of the Split-Dalmatia County, who came as an envoy of Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and the county governor. His participation underscored the presence of the highest state and county officials at the local celebration.
The political scene was further represented by members of parliament. Ivan Kuša, a member of parliament and president of the Homeland Movement, attended as the envoy of the Croatian Parliament. Alongside him, the assembly was attended by Dario Hrebak, a member of parliament, the mayor of Bjelovar, and the president of the HSLS, as well as Croatian MPs Ivan Budalić and Darko Klasić.
The religious community was represented by the parish priest of the St. Mark's Parish, Fra Vinko Gudelj. His participation linked religious life with local identity, as the people of Prolož were simultaneously preparing for the feast of the Assumption, traditionally celebrated in the Green Cathedral at the source of the Vrljika River.
These Marian shrines attract many pilgrims and visitors from the Imotska krajina region. Alongside the Proščani, the residents of Vinj are also making intensive preparations for the feasts, celebrating the feast of St Roch. These events mark the rhythm of life in the region and bring the community together.
