The feast of Our Lady of Angels, the heavenly patron of the Imotski region, was celebrated with great ceremony in Imotski, drawing a large number of faithful, pilgrims, and tourists. The celebration was attended by locals from the Imotski region, pilgrims from local parishes, guests from neighbouring Herzegovina, and many tourists who came to experience the spiritual and cultural heritage of this significant event.
The feast concluded with solemn ceremonies, including a grand procession with the votive image of Our Lady of Angels and a mass at the memorial cross in Topani. The procession, which began in front of the parish church of St Francis, was attended by more than 10,000 faithful, demonstrating the significant spiritual importance of the event for the wider region.
The procession was led by the Bishop of Banja Luka, Mons. Željko Majić, with prominent state officials taking part. Prime Minister Andrej Plenković attended the parade alongside his aides, while the Foreign Minister, Gordan Grlić Radman, and the župan, Blaž Boban, also participated in the procession.
The parade proceeded through the stone streets and squares of Imotski, following a traditional route through the historic core of the town. The atmosphere was marked by numerous votive banners and national flags, with the Croatian Band 'Grad Glazba Imotski' providing musical accompaniment. The event was further enhanced by the performance of Fr. Kristian Stipanović, whose contribution added to the solemn atmosphere of the occasion.
