The drama continues at Split's Meja, where screams are still being heard today. Dr Branim Marković stated that he is sitting on the wall because he is being pushed, while a digger is on site, operated by Mijić.
Construction workers began laying out mesh and posts yesterday. Dr Branim Marković called the police in response, but the officers refused to take the names of the construction workers. They stated that the matter was a property dispute between Josip Mijić and Dr Branim Marković.
Dr Branim Marković is a co-owner of the house at 4 Pod Kos. He is the neighbour of the owner of the 'Grajno' chain. Josip Mijić owns that chain, as well as a number of properties let for tourism in the centre of Split. A residential building is being constructed at 51 Marasović, above Marković's property, according to the building permit. This address is located right next to the well-known 'Kaskada'.
Between the first neighbours in the elite Split quarter of Meje stands a wall built long ago. A court case is being fought over the demarcation line of this wall. The situation escalated today as Mijić demolished the wall and brought in bodyguards.
The ambulance is monitoring Dr Marković, who has a heart condition.
