The ‘New Baby’ programme held 12 workshops throughout 2026, with a total of 84 participants from among expectant and new parents, the Family Centre reported.

The programme ran for seven months, from April to October, during which 34 pregnant women and parents took part. Participants were able to receive information on the care of newborns, childbirth, breastfeeding, baby development, motor development, child safety in traffic, and the rights of mothers and parents.

Nine external speakers and experts, along with seven partner institutions and organisations, were involved in the implementation of the programme. Among the partners were the maternal and child health service, gynaecology, paediatrics, the Croatian Institute for Health Insurance, and the police, while two specialists from the Family Centre provided support to participants.

Two workshops were dedicated to breastfeeding and baby feeding, two to baby handling and motor development, and two focused on supporting parents in adapting to their new role. A workshop on child safety in traffic and the correct use of car seats was also held.

Six babies were able, during the workshops, to play, feed, sleep, and explore. The Family Centre stated that it looks forward to new meetings, new babies, and new memories in 2027.
