The reception for parents with newborns took place on Friday, 17 July, at the Town Hall. Attending the event were parents who had welcomed a new addition to their family in the first six months of the year, to whom Mayor Zlatko Brlek and the President of the Council, Mirjana Smičić Slovenec, extended their congratulations.

According to figures provided by Mirjana Čelec, librarian at the Antun Mihanović Library and Reading Room, 12 babies were born in the first six months of 2026. This figure is significantly higher compared to the same period last year, when only five newborns were recorded in the town.

This gathering provided an opportunity for the local community to thank families for the arrival of new members, highlighting the importance of population growth for the town. Local representatives addressed the attendees, noting that new additions to families are a significant indicator of the town's dynamics and future.

The reception was held as part of the regular activities of the Town of Klanjec, and at the same time, it was linked to the work of local institutions. Recently, on 15 July 2026, the 6th session of the Town Council of Klanjec took place.

The council session began at 19:00, during which current issues within the council's remit were discussed. The reception for parents followed immediately after the regular council duties, demonstrating the continuity of the work of the town's institutions.
