On Sunday, a physical altercation occurred between Hrvatska stranka prava (Croatian Party of Rights) candidate Božo Raguž and local resident Marija Burić in the village of Ravno, in the southern part of Herzegovina. The incident began with a verbal exchange, but escalated into a physical fight. According to initial information from the Hrvatska stranka prava, Raguž sustained a head injury during the scuffle, a development the party characterised as an attempted murder, although other institutions had not yet confirmed such a legal classification.

According to reports circulating in the public sphere, the incident took place in the presence of several people, including members of the party's team, among them Vesna Šunjić, Danijela Džakula, Slaven Bevanda, and Slavko Raguž. Although the HSP emphasised the severity of the incident, medical documentation cited by Mari Burić states that Božidar Raguž sustained minor bodily injuries. Raguž is a Croatian veteran, known for his participation in the homeland war, where, as mentioned in statements, he witnessed various crimes, including the desecration of a church, and personally washed blood from the altar, which is part of his public engagement.

On the other hand, Mari Burić presents a completely different version of events. She claims that her verbal response to her question was the trigger for a sudden turn, after which a physical attack occurred. Burić states that the person who came to her aid was also attacked, and that she sustained injuries, specifically that she received two strong blows to the head, in the area where she had previously undergone surgery. Burić stated that she received medical assistance at the emergency room of the health centre in Ravno, after which she was referred for further examination to the University Hospital in Mostar, where injuries were identified.

The Ministry of the Interior of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton confirmed that a report of the incident was received at 19:25 on 13 September. According to police data, the physical altercation between two individuals, designated as I.B. and B.R., took place at 18:30. The Ministry confirmed that both parties sustained injuries and received medical treatment. The duty prosecutor was also informed of the incident. Police officers conducted an on-site inspection, and the process of establishing all the circumstances of the incident continued under the supervision of the prosecutor, in accordance with the procedures prescribed for clarifying such incidents.
