Police officers from the Zadar Police Station, with a branch in Nin, have completed the investigation into a 45-year-old Croatian national, who is suspected of attacking a 52-year-old German national. The incident occurred on Friday, 24 July, around 19:00, following a dispute between the two men.
According to established facts, the conflict began due to a misunderstanding in traffic and the manner in which the vehicles stopped. The two men engaged in a verbal altercation, during which the 45-year-old man directed verbal threats or insults at his counterpart. Following this brief exchange, the Croatian national re-entered his car.
Instead of leaving the scene, the 45-year-old man started the vehicle and deliberately drove towards the 52-year-old German, who was standing on the road at that moment. In the final moments, the German national managed to jump aside to avoid being hit, but in doing so, he lost his balance, fell to the asphalt, and sustained minor injuries.
Despite the driver's attempt to cause injury, he left the scene immediately after the incident. Police found the injured German on the spot, who was provided with first aid on site, and was then transported to the General Hospital in Zadar for further treatment.
Following the completion of the investigation, the 45-year-old Croatian national will be reported to the competent public prosecutor's office. Officers from the Zadar Police Station, with a branch in Nin, continued to gather evidence and verify all circumstances surrounding this dangerous incident.
