Police officers from the Pag Police Station conducted an investigation into two Croatian nationals, aged 20 and 22, who were arrested yesterday morning for disturbing the peace during the night. Both were brought before the competent municipal court, where they were questioned following a formal charge.
According to the facts, the incident occurred on 18 August at approximately 02:30 in the town of Pag. The suspects attacked a 21-year-old Serbian national. The assault, described as bold and indecent, was carried out under the influence of alcohol, and the victim sustained minor injuries. Police stated that the attack was verbal and physical.
A specific detail of the investigation concerns the 20-year-old suspect, who was heard making derogatory remarks towards the victim based on his nationality. Such behaviour constitutes an offence under the Law on the Prohibition of Discrimination, adding an aggravating circumstance to the case.
Following the hearing, the court decided on the measure of detention. The 20-year-old suspect was ordered to be held in custody for 10 days, after which he was transferred to prison. For the 22-year-old suspect, no such measure of detention has been specified at this time, according to available data.
