Two students sought medical assistance and police protection after being attacked by a man on Wednesday at their workplace, a hospitality venue in Novy Vinodolski, where they work during the tourist season, N1 reports.
According to the students, the man first verbally assaulted them while they were placing the menu in the designated spot between two hospitality venues. He then, they claim, followed the 22-year-old student, who has a physical disability, into the interior of the premises and struck him with a fist.
Both sought medical help at the University Clinical Hospital in Rijeka, where physical injuries were diagnosed, along with psychological effects resulting from the attack.
The attacker, according to the students, denied striking anyone. The students further state that local residents had told them the individuals involved had previously been linked to similar incidents, and that they are related by family ties to one of the current ministers.
The police confirmed that the incident had been reported to them and that the investigation is ongoing.
