The City of Corfu has officially published a public call for consultation, the subject of which is the Draft of the Guidelines for the organisation and development of the civil protection system. This document sets out the strategic guidelines and operational objectives that will guide the action of the civil protection system in the Corfu area over the next four years.
The guidelines are intended to apply in the period from 2026 to 2029. By adopting and implementing them, the city will seek to optimise existing capacities, improve coordination between individual stakeholders, and ensure adequate conditions for the protection of the population, material assets and the environment in the event of natural disasters or other accidents.
The public consultation, as a key step in the adoption of this strategic act, will run from 13 August 2026 to 12 September 2026. During this period, interested citizens, associations, representatives of the professional community and other stakeholders are invited to submit their comments, proposals and suggestions on the Draft Guidelines.
The aim of this process is to ensure the widest possible public involvement in the process of planning and decision-making that directly affects the safety and resilience of the local community. Comments submitted within the specified period will be carefully considered, and the results of the consultation will be taken into account in the final adoption of the Corfu City Guidelines for the organisation and development of the civil protection system.
