In three fields – hospitals, general practice, and specialist practice – a total of 260 businesses were registered in Dalmatia, specifically across the four counties. Of this number, 212 submitted reports to the Financial Agency for the previous year, according to data from the Fina Info service.

These businesses reported total revenues of EUR 76.4 million in the previous year. At the same time, they recorded a net profit of EUR 10.22 million, indicating that the sector in Dalmasia is operating profitably.

According to working hours, these businesses employed a total of 1,051 workers in the previous year. These are data relating to private healthcare providers registered in the three aforementioned fields across the four counties.

However, when analysing the number of staff, particularly the average net salary, additional factors must be taken into account. Indeed, many staff members from public hospitals work additionally, which means that the official data on employees in the private sector does not fully reflect the actual number of people working in that sector.

For this reason, data on the number of workers and the average net salary in private healthcare institutions in Dalmatia must be viewed with caution. Staff employed in public hospitals who work additionally in private clinics do not appear in the register of employees of private businesses, so the actual coverage of the workforce in this sector is larger than the number derived from the hours worked reported via the Financial Agency.
