During the past day, one traffic accident involving a driver under the influence of alcohol was recorded within the jurisdiction of the Osijek-Baranja Police Department. On Wednesday, 19 August, at approximately 23:20, police officers stopped a private vehicle. During the check, it was established that the driver, aged 35, was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Breath testing revealed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.55 per mille. A video recording from the scene of the incident is included. According to available information, proceedings have been initiated against the driver. Under current regulations, a fine of 390 euros is prescribed for such an offence. In addition to the fine, the driver faces a protective measure banning them from driving motor vehicles. This measure aims to prevent further dangerous behaviour on the roads and ensure the safety of all road users. Police officers continue to carry out intensified checks to prevent new offences and ensure road safety in the region.
