The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Davor Božinović, visited the newly renovated police station in Preko, officially marking the opening of the modernised facility designed to serve the local population. The project represents a significant step towards improving the accessibility of police and administrative services for the residents of the islands of Ugljan and Pašman.
The newly renovated building aims to contribute to greater safety both on land and at sea, ensuring more effective police action in this part of the Zadar County. The renovation works, valued at over 270,000 euros, reflect significant investment in local police infrastructure.
The Ministry of Regional Development and European Funds provided €130,000 for the works, while the remaining funds were covered by the local population through the municipalities of the islands of Ugljan and Pašman. The Ministry of the Interior provided the equipment, ensuring the functional integrity of the facility for daily operations.
Minister Božinović was welcomed in Preko by representatives of the local and county authorities, including the County Prefect of Zadar, Josip Bialaver, the President of the County Assembly, Ingrid Melada, and the Head of the Zadar Police Directorate, Ante Dražin. The Head of the Općina Preko, Josip Brižić, also attended.
The opening was attended by the heads of all the island municipalities served by this police station. The mayors of the municipalities of Kali, Bruno Mišlov, Kukljica, Marin Boško, Pašman, Krešimir Ćosić, and Tkon, along with the minister, toured the new facilities together.
