Most MPs have announced the initiation of proceedings for a vote of no confidence in the Government of the Republic of Croatia. The main reason for this initiative, according to the party, is the responsibility of the executive branch for the environmental crisis that has struck Lika. MP Zvonimir Troskot officially announced that the proposal had been sent to all parliamentary clubs.
In a document titled "Proposal to initiate a question of confidence in the Government of the Republic of Croatia", Most requested that other clubs submit comments or sign the initiative. The party emphasised the necessity of convening an extraordinary session of the Sabor, which should be called by the President of the Republic Zoran Milanović and the President of the Sabor Gordan Jandroković.
Most MPs Zvonimir Troskot and Marin Miletić sharply criticised Prime Minister Andrej Plenković. They assessed that the government was downplaying the scale of the resulting environmental situation and that it concerned an organised system of illegal waste management. Troskot characterised this system as an "authorised organised bioterrorist act".
According to estimates by Most MPs, the consequences affect Lika, Gacka, Senj and the hinterland of Zadar. They state that almost one-fifth of Croatian territory has been affected, endangering citizens' health, strategic water resources and national security. They accuse the government of creating unnecessary panic instead of facing the truth.
As urgent measures, Most is calling on the government to determine the exact scale of pollution as soon as possible. It also demands the provision of systematic water monitoring. These demands stem from the need for precise data that would serve as a basis for further legal and political steps in defence of environmental interests.
